Cinnamon Queen™ Chicken

$13.26 $19.49
Description Cinnamon Queen Chicken The Cinnamon Queen™ is a modern, high-performing brown egg layer developed exclusively by Cackle Hatchery® through hybrid breeding. This production bird is a true powerhouse—known for fast body development, early egg production, and rich brown eggshell color. Designed for efficiency and reliability, the Cinnamon Queen™ starts laying large to extra-large brown eggs at a younger age than most standard heritage breeds. These birds are also color sexable as chicks, which means you’ll know who’s who right from the start. The pullet chicks (females) are a warm brownish red, while the cockerel chicks (males) are white. As adults, Cinnamon Queen™ hens show a soft mix of brown and white feathering, while roosters can range from nearly all white to white with rich red feathers across their shoulders. Most have yellow legs, though a few may show a greenish tint—a charming reminder of their diverse lineage. The Cinnamon Queen™ bloodline is a proprietary Cackle Hatchery® cross between a Rhode Island Red production-type male and a Rhode Island White production-type female. This thoughtful pairing results in a bird that performs very similarly to the ISA Brown™, one of the most respected production layers in the poultry world. In fact, the Cinnamon Queen™ Chicken has become one of the most popular egg layers for both backyard keepers and commercial farms, producing an impressive 250–320 large brown eggs per year (see FAQ). While their primary purpose is egg production, their moderate size—hens weighing 5 to 7 pounds and roosters 8 to 9 pounds—makes them a solid dual-purpose option as well. Cinnamon Queens™ are active and hardy, adapting well to a range of climates. They generally show variable broodiness, have a fertility rate between 60–75%, and an excellent gender accuracy of 95–100% when purchased as chicks. The ideal mating ratio is 10 females to one male, and they prefer a roost height of 2 to 4 feet. Though not recognized by the American Poultry Association, the Cinnamon Queen™ is proudly made in the United States, and it’s been a part of Cackle Hatchery®’s production breeding program since 1993. These birds are bred for egg production, consistency, and performance, making them one of the best choices for customers looking to maximize their yield. Because of their outstanding laying ability and pleasant temperament, Cinnamon Queen™ Chicks and Hatching Eggs are always in high demand—so be sure to order early! The biggest advantage of Cinnamon Queens™ is their remarkable egg production—they lay 250–320 large brown eggs per year, often starting earlier than heritage breeds. They are also docile, easy to sex as chicks, and hardy in both warm and cool climates. The main trade-off is that, as a hybrid, their offspring (second-generation chicks) will not breed true and will come in a mix of colors. What color egg does a Cinnamon Queen Chicken lay? Cinnamon Queens™ lay large to extra-large brown eggs with a rich, uniform shell color. They’re among the most reliable brown egg layers in the poultry world. What is the lifespan of a Cinnamon Queen Chicken? On average, Cinnamon Queens™ live about 3 to 5 years, depending on their environment and care. Because they’re bred for production, their most productive laying years are typically the first two to three years. When do Cinnamon Queen Chickens start laying? Most Cinnamon Queen™ hens start laying as early as 16 to 18 weeks of age, well before many heritage breeds. They are fast developers, reaching sexual maturity quickly and producing high-quality eggs from an early age. Cackle Hatchery® Poultry Breeding Farm has been developing its Cinnamon Queen bloodline since 1993, producing strong, dependable birds that perform beautifully on farms and in backyard coops alike. Whether you’re new to raising chickens or a seasoned keeper, these hens are sure to make your egg basket overflow—cheap (cheep, cheep)!
