I received the crazy chicken lady starter kit back the first week of April. I was so excited when these little chicks arrived! They were beautiful and very healthy looking! My order was supposed to be a dozen but I received an extra chick. They have all grown to be beautiful healthy birds! I have such a variety and it was fun trying to figure all of them out. I do have one rooster which is probably why they included an extra because they can’t guarantee that all will be hands. I’m excited about him and he is gorgeous! He’s actually a black laced red wine Dot and really timid at the moment yet. I’m hoping that he stays calm and personable and doesn’t get mean. I’ve heard horror stories about roosters. I have lots of acreage so he’ll be happy as long as he stays good! Otherwise my mixture included a wonderful variety. Included was a dark Brahma, a Plymouth Bard rock, a Dominique, an Easter Egger, a Cinnamon Queen, Delaware Standard, Black laced golden Wyandotte, a Welsummer, A white leghorn and a brown leghorn, a Cuckoo Maran And a White Plymouth rock. This last one was the trick to figure out. This was so much fun and super enjoyable. Both my leg horns have started laying already and they are just Shy of 19 weeks. I wanted to write this review after all my chicks screw up because I spent time reading everyone else’s reviews of this particular bundle. Cackle hatchery gives you instructions on how to care for your chicks as soon as they arrive. Please follow it step-by-step! You must teach your chicks how to drink so if you don’t follow the instructions you might lose some. They also need to be kept under a heat lamp. Please get a thermometer so that you can check how hot that lamp is getting. Just a couple of things to be aware of. Anyway, I wish I could’ve submitted pictures but enjoy your chickens! Great company!
