2026 France Regions – Grand Est 10€ Silver Hexagon Coin BU Pack

Description As a French institution, it is in the Monnaie de Paris’s DNA to highlight heritage, history, and everything related to the country’s core identity. In the past, the Monnaie de Paris had celebrated French regions in several of its collections, but not since their redesign in 2016. Ten years after the introduction of the 18 new regions that make up metropolitan and overseas France, the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint) is launching a collection celebrating the richness of these territories. As local authorities with broad and diverse powers, the regions are more than just an administrative division. They possess genuine identities, marked by traditions born from their geographical and historical specificities. The regions reflect the richness of France’s natural and cultural heritage. In 2026, Île-de-France, Occitanie, and Grand Est are featured. Grand Est: The face of this coin is adorned with identifying elements of the Grand Est region, which allow us to glimpse the richness of the territory.  At the very center of the drawing, the region’s name is inscribed vertically along the spire of Strasbourg Cathedral. The cathedral stands on the right side of the drawing, representing the architecture of the Grand Est region and, more specifically, the region’s capital. Another symbol of Alsace, a stork, crowns the cathedral. On the left, the imposing silhouette of a vine leaf frames the portrait of Clovis, the first king of the Franks and an emblematic historical figure of the region due to a famous event in his history: his baptism in Reims. Finally, a bunch of grapes, connected to the vine leaf, recalls an activity common to several areas of the region: viticulture, particularly developed in Champagne and Alsace.
